What a beautiful piece! I came here because I got a notification that you had mentioned my newsletter in your newsletter-thank you! I love the line "Our masks fall off. Our hands move with excitement as we compliment each other on our adornments." I loved it so much I had to re-read it a few times. Thank you for writing this lovely piece :)

Oh! I’m honoured that you took the time! I was definitely in overwhelm-mode that day, and writing helps me process. I went back to read the moment you’re referring too, and was like, “oh! I like that phrasing too!”

Sometimes when I’m in ‘computing the day mode to process’ I write differently and it’s interesting to go back and see how I convert reality into writing when I’m overwhelmed in comparison with say, now where I am only tired.

Thank you for your kind words! I’m so grateful for them!

And thank you again for your wondrous welcoming presence in this network of tree-houses on the internet (that’s how I feel about the queer-neurodivergent corner of Substack, it’s such a magical space).

You are very welcome and thank you for your shares in your response too :) I really appreciate your kind words about my welcoming presence and I love the framing of the queer neurodivergent corner as a "network of tree houses"-what a great image!

In my younger days ,I too got not the wrong vehicle. I was frustrated that it wouldn’t start. I opened the hood to have a look. I was then approached by a very large gentleman who inquired why I was peering under his hood. I informed him that my car wouldn’t start and I was investigating. He inform d me that this was his car. Promptly got in and started it with his key. I was thunder struck with shame. I apologized profusely and asked if he could help me find mine as I hadn’t remembered where I parked it. He just took my keys and pressed the panic button on the fob which started my horn to beeping. I thanked him and got out of there as fast as possible. But now when I can’t remember where I parked I use the panic button on my fob.

It’s easily done and when I think of that I chuckle. 💖💖💖💖💖

Awww! Thank you Kaia! I appreciate you taking time to read this. I needed to sort my yesterday but I’m definitely still processing the fact that I could accidentally get into someone else’s car! 💖🥹

But being magic out in the world makes me feel valued regularly. And it makes me feel like a small essential part of the sparkle in the universe. Thank you for validating this part of me.
