It’s 1:29am and though I spent the entirety of Tuesday exhausted…in this moment I am spectacularly awake. And because tomorrow I have my second shift at the new restaurant in town…and tomorrow night we are driving off on a secondary adventure that my partner and I planned for my birthday…I’m writing my Wednesday weekly prompts now.
Wednesday’s Whimsical Prompts for the week
Write the prompts (done!)
What are your thoughts on UFOs?
Would you tell me about a favourite cryptid?
Have you ever experience something unexplainable? Something that felt supernatural? Would you tell me that story?
In university I took a religion class called Death & Concepts of the Future. We were asked to write out a plan for our funeral. My assignment, though I put my whole heart into it, only received a C+. If you had to write a plan for your funeral today, what would it look like?
Write a joyful ghost story.
Do you have a favourite movie or book that has aliens as the protagonist?
This foray into the strange, spooky and weird brought to you by the fact that I’m fascinated by the human instinct to believe in the magical, the beyond, the supernatural and the otherworldly.
This week my partner and I are going to a UFO info centre. It’s been on our bucket list since we moved to the east coast, and it opened two days after my birthday. So we are going to see what it’s all about.
If you have a favourite podcast about the supernatural, or aliens or crytpids that you’d like to recommend…please comment below.
This is one of my favourite rabbit holes.

You really need to talk to Jim about this. He's a UFO fan.
This is really old, but one of my favorite segments of This American Life is from 2002. It's a 17-minute segment called "Spook Science." It's in the middle of a long episode about other things that I found less interesting. I loved it because it was one of the first things I ever heard about serious ghost hunting.
