Momentary Superstition
…the tiny book
It is 2:20pm.
I would like six carrots. But I left them at home.
Today has been absolutely magical at Rosefinch.
I think my favourite moment though, is this family who was sitting at the back next to my tiny bookshop.
The mom was from Portland, Oregon…and I’d lived in Seattle. I did a bunch of really cool things while I lived Seattle. And one of them was spoken word and storytelling.
The young girl at the table was 11 years old, and she confessed to being a reader. And so I gifted her a copy of Meg, Jo, Beth & Amy…a brilliant graphic novel retelling of Little Women. Updated. Modern.
🧶🧶🧶
I got a wee chat with my wondrous bosses before they took one of their cat family to the beach, and that was super lovely.
And now it is 4pm.
It’s been really busy and beautiful. And thankfully air-conditioned.
And my second favourite thing today is a tie between this badass lentil soup my friend made, and the orange ginger molasses cookies.
But what I really want to show you today is the gorgeous tiny book my friend Heather made.

Momentary Superstition

Please feel free to shower Heather’s tiny bookshop with love and appreciation, I’ll make sure she gets it (she might even pop in to reply to your kind words).
…and if you’re like “Wake. I wanna show off my tiny book or poem or whatever you made from the prompt.” Let me know. I love seeing them. LOVE IT. And I can post it here too, if that’s your jam. Or I can hold it in my heart forever if you just want me to see it.
I just hit my tired wall. And I think I’m going to share myself an iced dirty oat chai latte…because I can.
Heart,
Wake

I'll have to check out Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy as a graphic novel. I'm intrigued.
I told Heather that I hope she is keeping all her tiny books, because they are gorgeous. 🙂
(- And now I am making myself smile, because I wrote "grogeous" and definitely groggy-ous is this brain at the mo! ) It will come good...)
Happy carrot 🥕 revival, Wake. 🙂
