Being away
…finding different magic
Last night my partner and I got into Moncton.
Today we made a weird decision to just follow our whims.
First we went to Magnetic Hill. We paid ten dollars and I left the experience feeling nauseated.
Not the hill’s fault. Definitely a result of my different brain trying to sort the optical illusion in real time.
Then we went to a very touristy spot called Wharf Village. It was quiet. I liked the ducks.
I asked if maybe we could go walk around the zoo…knowing I needed a walk to re-ground myself.
What ensued was the most bizarre series of zoo moments I’ve ever experienced.
I needed 7 carrots to sort my day. It was that magical.
I’m going to post the videos of the significant moments.
(The gibbons singing)
(The surprising ostrich)
(The camel who was sleeping hundreds of feet away, until he wasn’t)
(Lemur eyes are intense)
I am a quiet visitor to the zoo. I’m there not trying to attract the attention of the creatures. But they felt me. And it was wild.)
And then we met Google.
All he wanted was to make a connection. So I sat with him awhile.
I miss him still.
Also one cute picture of my love.
We have three more days of adventure and I’m so enjoying just spending time with them.
Oh! And the tiny if slight unfinished book for today.

Heart,
Wake
Day 18 of 42 of posting the ocean for a friend
Just a picture of an old sail boat on the ocean in the bay of the town I live in. 💖

Thank you for spending time with Google, he was in search of a friend. I love him as well. ❤️
Oh! - I know that gibbon song sound. Those gibbons look and sound just like the Siamang gibbons at the Adelaide Zoo. Sometimes you can hear them calling, if you are in the general area, not even at the zoo. I think it's cool that they take up some of the soundscape space.
How beautiful that the animals seemed to respond to you, today. That ostrich definitely was curious! - And I loved the way their neck moved.
I'm glad you sat with Google the tortoise. They looked like they needed company.
I hope the rest of your holiday had just the right amount of adventures, of just the right size, with your beloved. :-)
