Art with friends
…a standing Thursday date
Today I feel grateful for the gentle soothing presence of my friends Heather and Nell.
We try to do art every Thursday. It began at Curious & Kind…and the fact that it has continued beyond that is this gift that keeps on giving.
Today Heather painted a squirrel, and Nell created this wondrous tiny book based on an old prompt from this year.
And I worried about how I was going to make a tiny book about an unruly eclair…not at all phallic.
Nell suggested instead I make a star, Eclair.
So I did.
And sitting with them while the sunshine came in through the windows and we drew silently, and told stories back and forth. It was such magic.
Today I’m leaving to go on my birthday/anniversary trip…while my wondrous friend Beth gathers synchronicities which will tell her that our town is her town.
Friendship really is spectacularly magic.
As a person who had difficulty making friends as a teenager…(as a child it was easy…I just created games we all could play) this is such a healing journey. To love and be loved just the way I am.
