I really like that sushi place. Amazing how we get two great places! But it’s such a shame about the menu. To most that disclaimer is harmless but… well I was thinking of your youngest today because the recommendation is to throw out all the food in your fridge if the power has been out for 4 hours. If people actually did that, the waste and cost is phenomenal. Most don’t, but if your brain is wired a certain way that’s a truly horrible recommendation to make. It’s not “an abundance of caution”, it’s cruel. Because unless your fridge has no insulation and is sitting outside in the sun for 4 hours, it’s actually fine. Mine was still cold 10 hours later. And it contains hundreds of dollars of food.
I know it’s legal ass-covering stuff. And I do get that. It’s what I would do too. But I do wish we could just be reasonable and thoughtful. If I put the fries on the gluten free menu, they aren’t fried in the battered-fish-oil. If I serve gluten things, there may be mild contamination. And if it’s a gluten free kitchen, there isn’t.
Also just feel the temperature of your fridge food. If it’s warm and perishable, throw it out. If it’s still cool, it’s fine. Cheese, eggs, milk will all tell you in no uncertain ways if they are off.
I’m glad my car doesn’t legally have to remind me that cars are dangerous and might kill me every time I get in it. It would increase the stress of driving to possibly unendurable levels.
Yeah, it’s an orca and they are jerks. I couldn’t get past the first episode of Blue Planet because they harried a whale calf, finally killed it, then left it to rot. I cried my eyes out.
I like sharks and they’ve got a bad reputation they don’t deserve. So it had to be an orca.
The humans had to go down because I wanted to draw a shipwreck. 😉
We sang Seekers songs (at “Singalong”, at an aged care home) today, which included Puff the Magic Dragon. When we got to the verse about a “boat with billowed sails”, I could picture your drawing.
